Every August is Neurosurgery Awareness Month (#NeurosurgeryMonth), an initiative organized by the American Association of Neurosurgeons (AANS). Past years have been focused on conditions such as concussion, back pain, stroke or traumatic brain injury.
The goal of Neurosurgery Awareness Month is to bring
neurological conditions to the forefront and share knowledge that will
enlighten the public what it means to live with and be treated for these
conditions.
This year for #NeurosurgeryMonth, we are opening Neurosurgery Blog to a variety of guest posts from neurosurgical departments across the county. Throughout August, we will share information, technological developments, and patient stories that highlight the amazing work these neurosurgeons do.
We hope these stories will spotlight neurosurgical
departments across the country and the neurosurgeons who have committed their
lives to this elite field.
Editor’s Note: We
encourage everyone to join the conversation online by using the hashtag
#NeurosurgeryMonth.
