AANS Neurosurgeon Spotlight: Summer 2018 – Summer: Sun*Burnt

AANS Neurosurgeon presents information and analysis of modern neurosurgical practice as the official socioeconomic publication of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). Matters pertaining to legislation, workforce issues, practice management and the effects seen in the neurosurgery specialty are covered.

The summer 2018 edition of AANS Neurosurgeon explores Summer: Sun*Burnt – the various ways neurosurgeons spend time in academic pursuits outside their every-day work environments, avoid and cope with burnout and embark on adventures when free time can be found.

Topics discussed in this edition include reasons behind taking a sabbatical, institutional programs helping to combat the stressful struggle for work-life balance and what neurosurgeons can do to help themselves when faced with burnout.

AANS Neurosurgeon is also proud to present Cautery: Hot Tips for Neurosurgeons; Wellness outside the OR; Code Red: Essential Coding for Every Neurosurgeon; and STATLine: The Data behind Neurosurgical Trends, which share helpful tips and information from the field of neurosurgery.
