nb1This year’s 2018 Annual Meeting of the AANS/CNS Section on Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves, which is being held this week in Orlando, FL, features a noteworthy ensemble of honored guests and speakers who will advance the meeting theme of, “Restoring Alignment in an Era of Global Change.” These speakers are innovators and leaders in neurosurgery, technology and sports.

Leading the meeting are Marjorie C. Wang, MD, MPH, FAANS, chair of the section; Daniel J. Hoh, MD, FAANS, annual meeting chair; and Juan S. Uribe, MD, FAANS, chair of the scientific program. busAdditionally, there will be a presentation by NFL Hall of Famer, Jerome A. Bettis. Not only is Bettis a six-time Pro-Bowler and two-time Super Bowl MVP, but in 2001 he was also the recipient of the league’s “NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year” award for his charitable work. His inspirational story will address injuries and his personal experiences from years of being a professional athlete.

The meeting will also honor Meritorious Awardees, Rick C. Sasso, MD, and Vincent C. Traynelis, MD, FAANS, and Meritorious Member Awardees, Paul C. McCormick, MD, FAANS, and John E. McGillicuddy, MD, FAANS(L), for their contributions to the field. They will be sharing their knowledge of neurosurgery, spine surgery and innovative techniques.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the beautiful city of Orlando for a fantastic summit! We encourage everyone to follow @SpineSection and to share their experience by using the hashtag #Spine18 to join the conversation online.
